We have a confession to make - we love a good quote! In fact, we’re kind of suckers for them.
We’ve put together a selection of our favourites and the reason they touched us.
1. You don’t need a cape to be a superhero
This superhero was hand drawn at Tahlo HQ to represent that so many of our own superheroes are the women around us doing amazing feats of strength (strength = strength of character).
2. Write it on your heart that every day is the best day of the year
Mindfulness and gratitude: it is so easy in the craziness of life to wish away the days or wait for the weekends. Living in the present and cherishing the day is good to be reminded of.
3. Don’t dress for the job you have, dress for how you feel
This is one of our own, and it’s all about modernising the old quote of "dressing for the job you want", and rejecting the notion that we need to play the imposter to succeed. Your value is in being you, so dress in the way that makes your light shine brightest.
4. Never underestimate the power of a good outfit on a bad day
Fact: some days are tough. How you dress is scientifically proven to impact your mood, so play with the tools that are your disposal, put on that dress that makes you feel a million bucks and do what you can to rise about the negative.
5. We are trained to fit in, assimilate and blend in...
It is easy not to realise until much later that for many of us, all the school yard antics we lived through were teaching us to conform to our tribe. Like Janet Mock, we admire the women who have the guts and take the risk to stand out. To some women it comes naturally, for the rest of us it is uncomfortable process.
